Sorosh Poya Faryabi
Sorosh Poya Faryabi is a conservation professional specialising in snow leopard conservation in Afghanistan and Central Asia. He works with the Wildlife Conservation Society on species monitoring and research, conservation planning, human–wildlife coexistence, and community-based conservation. His work has included long-term camera-trap monitoring, snow leopard population assessment, monitoring of key prey species, and approaches to reduce livestock predation and retaliatory killing. He has contributed to national snow leopard conservation planning and regional conservation initiatives in Central Asia. Sorosh also contributed to the 2025 IUCN Snow Leopard Red List reassessment and Green Status assessment and collaborates with the Snow Leopard Network on population assessment. He holds an MPhil in Conservation Leadership from the University of Cambridge.
