Amirhossein Khaleghi Hamidi is a wildlife conservationist from Iran with more than 20 years of experience in wildlife research, monitoring and conservation. He began working on Persian leopards in Bamu National Park in 2007 and has since contributed to leopard conservation initiatives in Iran and Iraq. Since 2009, he has been involved in the conservation of the Asiatic cheetah, particularly in Touran and other key landscapes in Iran. Over time, his work has evolved from field-based research and wildlife monitoring toward broader approaches to threat mitigation, community-based conservation and conservation planning. His current work focuses increasingly on participatory and collaborative approaches to conservation governance, human–wildlife coexistence, and locally grounded approaches to strengthen the long-term effectiveness and resilience of wild felid conservation.
