Nature Conservation Foundation

Member since 1998.
I have been involved with research and conservation on snow leopard and prey species in the Himalaya for over 25 years. While understanding the snow leopard ecosystem remains a key area of interest, much of my efforts over the past two decades has been towards enabling conservation at large landscape scales through the preparation of participatory and landscape-level management plans. These knowledge-based plans are prepared with the engagement of key stakeholders, from communities to the government and non-government agencies. Based on this expertise I have assisted the GSLEP Secretariat prepare better landscape management plans in the snow leopard countries. As a national steering committee member, I am playing a key role in India’s strategy called the Project Snow Leopard and the first snow leopard monitoring program called SPAI (Snow Leopard Population Assessment in India).
