Sheren Shrestha

WWF, Kathmandu, Nepal

I have spent the past two decades working across diverse roles in wildlife conservation in India and Nepal. I currently lead WWF's Network Snow Leopard Programme and manage WWF Nepal's Mountain Programme. My work focuses on evidence-based conservation planning that bridges modern scientific research with traditional knowledge systems. I have developed innovative approaches to strengthen coexistence between remote mountain communities and snow leopards, including engaging non-conventional stakeholders such as faith institutions in conservation efforts. I have also contributed to shaping strategic policy documents on snow leopard conservation and support global coordination efforts for the species. Prior to WWF, I managed conservation communications at the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) and Wildlife Trust of India (WTI), promoting conservation awareness through media engagement and education campaigns.
