Wildlife Institute of India

I am field ecologist working in the Himalayan and Tropical region of India for nearly two decades. My expertise lies in aspects of movement, population and foraging ecology of mammalian carnivores. I have also studied interactions with between large carnivores such as snow leopards, tigers and wolves in these landscapes. I also teach on these subjects where I am employed. Some newer aspects that I have tried to understand is niche selection in lesser cats including the elusive clouded leopards of Northeast India, Living roots ecosystems and mesopredator release. I also have expertise on biodiversity prioritization and impact assessment for conservation planning.
