My name is Anna Yachmennikova. I am 42 years old, married, and have no children. I hold a PhD in Zoology (2012) and work as a senior research scientist at the one of main Institute of the Russian Federation (for his scientific area), Russian Academy of Sciences.

The area of my professional expertise is not only highly relevant but also deeply important to me on a personal level. I am confident that my twenty years of solid experience in zoological and ecological work – particularly on projects concerning the conservation of rare species, grounded in rigorous scientific research – has equipped me with the skills and knowledge necessary to implement any complicated project from this field.

Restoring the natural world and conserving biodiversity have been my foremost dreams since childhood. I feel profound sadness at how harshly human activity impacts the biosphere of our home planet. I firmly believe that science is absolutely vital for developing all kinds of methods aimed at biodiversity conservation. The idea of species reintroduction to support population recovery resonates most closely with my own vision.

My professional background spans multiple scales of the natural world. I have extensive experience in both fieldwork and the observing of animals in captivity, including behavioural assessment. I have worked with large carnivores (particularly big cats) and their prey species (ungulates), as well as with GIS-based satellite imagery and terrestrial habitat evaluations. I am capable of both analysing and synthesising collected data to form a comprehensive ecological picture.
