Ai Suzuki

Ritsumeikan University, Osaka / WilCoLa, Tokyo

She is an Assistant Professor at Ritsumeikan University and Director of WilCoLa, working on the conservation of small wild cats in Asia, particularly Fishing cats, Leopard cats, and Jungle cats in Myanmar and Bangladesh. Her work takes an interdisciplinary, problem-solving approach to understanding and mitigating threats to these cats. She conducts ecological research to identify what and where to conserve, and social science research to determine how to conserve them and translate into action. Working closely with local communities, governments, and other stakeholders, she aims to bridge ecological and social science research with on-the-ground action to advance practical, evidence-based conservation.
