Cuatro Gatos Conservación, Fundación Biomas Costa Rica
I am a Costa Rican biologist specializing in zoology, co-founder and director of the Biomas Costa Rica Foundation, where I coordinate the small cat conservation project Cuatro Gatos Conservación. During my undergraduate studies, I specialized in rodents, and because of the prey-predator relationship between them and small cats, I became involved in the study and conservation of small cats in 2019. At the time, I developed the former Oncilla Conservation program while working with a national NGO, where we defined the range of the species Leopardus pardinoides in the country, identified priority areas for its conservation, and clarified its taxonomic status within the tigrinus species complex. At the same time, we carry out community projects in rural areas to reduce the threats posed by the country's small felines. Member of the Small Wild Cat Conservation Foundation, Tiger-Cat Conservation Initiative and Ocelot Working Group.
