Nicolás is a Natural Resources Engineer and holds a Master's degree in Nature Conservation from the University of Chile. Over the past 15 years, his work has focused on felid conservation in Chile, specifically with the endangered Andean cat and the puma. Since 2007, he has been a member of the Andean Cat Alliance, serving as Chile Coordinator since 2010. Since 2021, he has worked as Coordinator of the Human-Puma Coexistence Project in Patagonia for Panthera, the world's leading wild cat conservation organization. His interests center on human-wildlife interaction, research, education, and community outreach across Chile — from the altiplano to Patagonia.
