I have worked in nature conservation and research since 2008. I started my career in the Etosha National Park as a field technician working with disease ecology, wildlife capture and telemetry tracking various species. In 2014 I joined the Black-footed Cat Working Group and monitored radio-collared black-footed cats on farmland in the Northern Cape. I returned to Namibia in 2019 to again work in Etosha, placing, monitoring and removing collars on lion, spotted hyena and jackal and to provide technical support and training for wildlife protection. Since 2012 I have been collecting distribution records and raising awareness for this rare small wildcat, specifically on farmland as most of its range is outside protected areas. In 2020 I coordinated the first ecological research on black-footed cats in Namibia and continue to coordinate research and education, in collaboration with the Black-footed Cat Working Group and Naples Zoo, USA.
