African Golden Cat Conservation Alliance

I am a Ugandan wildlife biologist and conservation practitioner focused on the African golden cat and community-led species conservation. As an AGCCA Partner and Community Conservation Lead in the Kibale landscape, I coordinate conservation activities with communities neighbouring Kibale National Park. My work addresses bushmeat hunting, indiscriminate snaring and habitat degradation through conservation awareness, local capacity building, livelihood-based interventions and wildlife stewardship. I am also supporting the establishment of a permanent camera-trap grid to generate long-term information on African golden cat occurrence, distribution, habitat use and threats. I am also a Co-founder and Thematic Lead for Conservation and Society at Terra-NatureWILD Conservation. I have experience in wildlife monitoring, stakeholder engagement, digital data collection, GIS and statistical analysis. I am currently pursuing an MSc in Environment and Natural Resources Management at Makerere University, with particular interests in conservation genetics and data-driven species conservation.
