I have been working on wild felids since 2006, when I began my Ph.D. at the University of São Paulo (USP), earning my doctoral degree in 2010. My primary research interests focus on the systematics (taxonomy), morphology, evolution, ecology and biogeography of Neotropical felids, with an emphasis on the genus Leopardus. Currently, I am a collaborating researcher at the Museum of Zoology of the University of São Paulo (MZUSP), where I conduct research on the taxonomy and ecomorphology of South American mammals, centered on carnivorans. I am a member of the Taxonomy Committee of the Brazilian Society of Mammalogy (SBMz) and also serve as a professor at a private higher education institution.
