I am a veterinarian from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia (UNal) with an MSc in Wild Animal Health from the Royal Veterinary College at the University of London and member of the UNal Bioethics Committee. My experience has been in human-wildlife conflict and coexistence, wildlife capture and transport, and wildlife trafficking prevention and control. My focus is to lead interdisciplinary initiatives that promote sustainable development by balancing agricultural productivity and community livelihoods with biodiversity conservation and ecosystem protection. My main work has been with Colombian wild cat species Panthera onca, Puma concolor, Herpailurus yagouaroundi, Leopardus pardalis, Leopardus wiedii and Leopardus pardinoides.
