I am mesmerized by wild cats since childhood and after I got a master’s degree in ethology in 2000, I helped found the French zoological park “Le Parc des Félins” now (renamed Lmigny Safari Reserve) where I served as Deputy Director and Curator, supervising for 15 years the management and breeding of 26 wild cat species. Simultaneously, I also served for several years as the Vice Chair of the Felid Taxon Advisory Group of the EAZA and was the European Breeding Program Coordinator for the sand cat, until I left the zoo community to join the global wild cat conservation organisation Panthera in 2017. I currently serve as the Hub Director for Europe, West and Central Africa. I am especially interested in all poorly known cats and I conducted research on sand cats in Morocco between 2015 and 1019 in collaboration with my friend and CSG member Dr. Alexander Sliwa and Moroccan partners.
