Dominik's career spans site-based research to regional and transboundary conservation strategy. He began as a field researcher studying leopard and lion ecology in Botswana and South Africa, before joining WildCRU at the University of Oxford, where he managed the Trans-Kalahari Predator Programme. He went on to lead WWF Germany's lion programme and worked on its Eastern and Southern African portfolio.
At Lion Landscape, Dominik works as Conservation Capacity Lead, where he focuses on building strategic partnerships with likeminded organisations and growing local capacity for carnivore conservation across Sub-Saharan Africa. Drawing on over 15 years of experience in African large carnivore conservation, his current work centres on the organisation's mentorship programme, supporting mentee organisations and strategic collaboration frameworks that connect Lion Landscapes with aligned conservation efforts across the region.
