I am interested in how the rapidly developing field of genomics can contribute to the field of conservation biology. During my PhD I applied various genetic techniques to gain insight into the distribution of genetic diversity in the lion. Currently, I am working on designing and applying genomic tools, such as SNP panels, to inform conservation planning for lions and other species. Apart from that, I am working on genomic datasets from a wider range of species (mostly from Brazil, Nepal and sub-Sahara Africa). I have also worked on metabarcoding and environmental DNA for assessing diet and community composition.
