High prevalence of systemic amyloidosis in black-footed cats _(Felis nigripes)_ as opposed to other captive feline species
2003  Verhandlungsbericht des.Internationalen Symposiums ber die Erkrankungen der Zoo- und Wildtiere (41): 1-3

Whereas the prevalence of generalised amyloidosis in captive populations of other non-domestic felids seems to be low, this is not the case for captive cheetahs and black-footed cats. A retrospective study based on necropsy records of 163 captive non-domestic felids, including 16 black-footed cats (9 male and 7 female), was done to assess the prevalence of amyloidosis.
