Status of snow leopard conservation in Bhutan
  Full Book

In Bhutan, snow leopards are distributed along the northern alpine and sub-alpine belts, potentially between 3000-5400 a.m.s.l. The estimated population of this mystical and flagship species in the country is merely 100-200 animals surviving in a potential range of 10,000 km2. Initiatives, activities and measures taken for its conservation from 1995-2007 are shortly described.
