European Studbook for the Sand cat _Felis margarita _2006
2007  Full Book

This is the first edition of the European Studbook for the sand cat _Felis margarita_. The studbook contains information about the current population and the full historical report. Moreover demographic and genetic analyses were carried out. The EEP for the Sand cat _Felis margarita _was established in 2000 and was kept by John Partridge (Bristol Zoo, GB) up to March 2005. The studbook based on data collected by Kim Clark (Living Desert, CA), who was the International Studbook keeper for Sand cats up to 2005. Kim published the last International Studbook in 2004. Since 2005 Kara Akers (Living Desert, CA) is the keeper of the International Studbook and she published the new issue of the International Studbook in August 2007. Nevertheless some individuals are published in the present European Studbook with temporary studbook numbers and should be substituted by permanent numbers. The European studbook should also be a collection basin for all sand cat relevant information concerning husbandry, research or in-situ conservation. In this first issue you find a summary of the thesis of C‚cile Regazzi "Activities, interrelations and use of space in a group of captive sand cats (_Felis margarita harrisoni_)".
