2002  The Southwestern Naturalist (47): 635-636

The margay has not been recorded in Sonora, Mexico. The nearest records are those from the state of Chihuahua and from the state of Sinaloa, both in the same area of the R¡o Fuerte Basin. These occurrences suggested the presence of the margay in Sonora. Here we give the account of the first record for this species in Sonora.
