Flat-Headed Cat _Prionailurus planiceps_ (Vigors and Horsfield 1827)
1975  Book Chapter

Characteristics, distribution and habits of the flat-headed cat St. George Mivart, in his famous monograph The Cat, called this species a "very peculiar and exceptional cat". It is, in fact, even more aberrant than the fishing cat, having in its appearance features reminiscent not only of the viverrids, but also of the mustelids. Its skull is broadly flattened and pointed, with the nasal bones forming a ridge. The orbit of the eye is completely encircled by bone, and the anterior upper premolar has two roots and is larger and better developed than in any other cat.
