Action plan: research and conservation of carnivorous mammals in Brazil
2004  Full Book

During this workshop in 2007, a group of experts, officials of the Ministerio do Meio Ambinte, and local stakeholders discussed gaps in knowledge and conservation priorities concerning Brasilian predator species (Canidae, Felidae, Mustelidae, Procyonidae). Participants were organised into 6 working groups which adressed the following topics: 1) Genetics and Systematics 2) Conservation in situ 3) Predation on Livestock 4) Gene Bank and Captive Breeding 5) Wildlife Diseases. The result of this workshop was an action plan, which identified general problems within each topic, actions to resolve these problems, and further described how and by whom these actions should be implemented. Actions were prioritized and possible partner organizations, a time schedule, limitations, and the feasibility of each action were exemplified.
