The present status of the Indian Lynx
1959  Journal of the Bombay Natural History Society (56): 317-317

In 1958 two immature Indian Lynx (_Caracal caracal_) cubs where found in the Sariska Sanctuary. They could not be kept alive. Judging from the manner in which these cubs were abandoned by the parents it looks to me that the natuaral food of this animal is dast disappearing and therefore the mother not being capable of rearing the cubs abandoned the, They do not seem to have the habit of tigers and panthers of eating their cubs if food supply is difficult.
