Estimating population size of grizzly bears is hampered by certain characteristics: grizzly bears a secretive, aggressive and difficult to observe; populations often inhabit mountainious, densely vegetated remote habitats; individual bears often have different probabilities od capture or observation that violate the assumption of equal catchability,
