Hoffmann, T.W.
Wild cats of Sri Lanka
1975  Loris (13): 286-286

There are four true wild cats found in Sri Lanka. The impressive Leopard (or Panther) is, of course, well-known, and this beautiful large animal is the pride of Wilpattu National Park. It is less well known that rarely black panthers (i. e. Melanistic leopards) occur in Sri Lanka.
