Cheetahs of the Kruger National Park
  Manuscript

Southern Africa is now one of the few remaining strongholds of the cheetah as it is extinct or occurs in very low densities throughout most of its former range which extended through Africa and Asia to the Soviet Union. In Namibia and Zimbabwe the absence of other large predators, such as lions and spotted hyaenas, on farmland has allowed cheetah numbers to expand to levels where they have become problem animals in terms of domestic stock predation.
