| Ethnozoological analysis of fauna in SÆo Louren‡o do Sul | |

The analysis of the animals present in a given location can be used as an indication of the existing environmental quality. The present research aims at an analysis of animals in the Municipality of SÆo Louren‡o do Sul, as indicator of environmental quality, generating results that make it possible to infer impacted areas and that demand greater attention and priority for actions to recover degraded areas. The analysis proposed here is justified since it will be possible to identify, throughout SÆo Louren‡o Stream, not only the physical changes in the permanent preservation areas, but also the biodiversity conditions in the anthropic areas and their implications for the environmental quality. Considering that the Municipality of SÆo Louren‡o do Sul is integrally inserted in the Pampa Biome, the present work seeks to identify, through ethnozoological interviews with local residents, species of animals characteristic of the biome, the Lagoa dos Patos region, and Rio Grande to plan the recovery of permanent preservation areas, it is necessary to know what species of fauna are present, and then to construct a systemic analysis of the environment, covering aspects of plants, animals and social interests. |
