Sartor, C.C.
Population structure of the_ Leopardus colocolo_ (Carnivora, Felidae): defining demographic units for the conservation of the species in Brazil
2016  Full Book

Based on the results obtained, we suggest that Brazilian populations are considered independent Management Units for the conservation of genetic diversity. Furthermore, we recommend that special attention is given to the population of Rio Grande do Sul and Uruguay, as isolated populations are more conducive to the endocrossing and loss of genetic diversity, which decreases long-term viability of the population.
