Architectural design of infrastructure for the fire department in the parish Vilcabamba of the canton and province of Loja
2016  Full Book

Throughout the last five years, there has been an increase in forest fires in the southeastern parishes in the canton of Loja. Although this sector has a fire station in Vilcabamba and receives support from the other stations in Loja, it is evident that this has not been enough to attend the emergencies and diminish the loss of species and eco-systems. This research regards the problem of fires starting from the point of awareness, prevention and training, proposing the provision of a better infrastructure for the fire station, all the while keeping in mind that the solution requires an integral focus that includes the proposals in action from other institutions. We have performed a reading of the situation, making an intensity of fires map of the parish, superimposing the living areas and cover areas, to evidence the damages caused, and that these facilitate the strategic location of service. On the other hand, we have reviewed international and national norms to propose the best architectural design, taking into account the psychological factor of the fireman during his 24 shift in the building, exploring the ways in which it can provide the architecture and constraints of the intervention site. The selection of the most adequate site for the location was also studies in this research, and it includes the review of the current station to verify its compliance with the norms and minimum equipment.
