Patterns of daily activity of medium and large mammals in the Uyuca Biological Reserve by camera traps
2018  Full Book

Mammals have suffered from habitat and population losses due to anthropogenic activities. Most mammals are nocturnal, secretive and silent, so camera traps are one of the most appropriate tools for monitoring them. The objective of this study was to describe activity patterns of medium and large mammals using camera traps. Three sampling periods were carried out during 2015, 2016, and 2018. The most frequently photographed species in Uyuca Biological Reserve were: _Dasyprocta punctata, Cuniculus paca, Odocoileus virginianus _and _Dasypus novemcinctus_, while the less frequents were _Didelphis marsupialis, Sciurus deppei, Leopardus wiedii _and_ Herpailurus yagouaroundi_.
