The analysis of works on Felidae from 1945 to 2014 revealed that the majority of them includes _Panthera onca_ (48) and _Puma concolor_ (38), followed by _Leopardus pardalis_ (27), _Leopardus tigrinus_ (23), _Leopardus wiedii_ (19), _Puma yagouaroundi_ (16), _Leopardus geoffroyi_ (4) and _Leopardus concolor_ (1). Besides _L. tigrinus_ has the most worrying status, only 20% of the studies includes them. It is highly concerning the few conservation studies about _L. geoffroyi_, as it is a nearly threatened species. |
