| Camera trap record of inland Fishing cat from east coastal plains of South India | |

The east coastal plains of South India hold some of the last remaining inland freshwater bodies inhabited by the fishing cat _Prionailurus viverrinus_. A species-targeted survey was initiated to identify any demographically significant populations surviving in a relatively dry and human-dominated landscape. We report the first inland camera trap records of the species from the Eastern Ghats region; it comes from a freshwater habitat in the northern part of these hills, in Andhra Pradesh. |
