Population and density estimates of the threatened Fishing cat (_Prionailurus viverrinus_) in human modified wetlands
2019  Rep.Gtant.Res.Asahi Glass Foundation: 1-10

Fishing cat ranges over South and Southeast Asia but their populations appear to have declined significantly due to habitat loss and retaliatory killing. We provided the first population and density estimates of Fishing cat in mainland Southeast Asia. Estimated density appears to be relatively high compared with other estimates across the species range suggesting that this site of Thailand may be a population stronghold. Similar efforts targeting Fishing cat in recently confirmed locations should also be attempted in order to better assess their global population status for long term survival.
