Rabinowitz, A.
The status of the Indochinese tiger: separating fact from fiction
1999  Book Chapter

This chapter takes a look at what we know about tigers throughout the Indochina region. For each country, I consider the history of protection afforded to tigers and their habitats, and the reasons behind the decline of tigers in that country. The maps for each country show how little recent data there are on known tiger distribution, and that even where tigers are present, they are not uniformly distributed throughout available forest habitat. Finally, the chapter summarises the current status of tiger conservation within the region and recommends some immediate actions to improve tiger protection and management.
