2006  Ecologia Aplicada (5): 101-110

The actual relation surface-perimeter of Torotoro National Park (Potosi, Bolivia) was analyzed, and on its basis, minimal required surface's indexes were calculated for _Puma concolor_, _Oreailurus jacobita _and _Lycalopex culpaeus _populations. Data obtained were compared to the current effective conservation surface (47% of the total surface ) and showed a clear deficiency, because the minimum surface required to conserve minimal viable populations of these carnivores is 105 times the Park's protected surface (166 km2) for _P. concolor_, 273 times for _O. jacobita _and 5 times for _L. Culpaeus_.
