Mating strategies in cats: a comparison of the role and importance of infanticide in domestic cats and lions

Infanticide by male domestic cats has been fairly often cited, but rarely directly observed. I believe the rarity of such observations is not surprising given thy physiological and behavioural traits of female domestic cats, as well as the ecological characteristics of the environments in which domestic cats live.
