Lista comentada de Mam¡feros de la provincia de Entre R¡os
2007  Full Book

Discussed list on mammal species in Entre R¡os. The knowledge about mammals present in Entre R¡os is rather precarious an incomplete. There are not many systematic studies and the most commonly known records correspond to rodents and some bat species. Because of that, the aim of this work is to present an updated list with comments on mammal species in the province. The information was gathered after exhaustive review of bibliography as well as reference collection lists from regional and national museums, and investigators' unpublished data. The taxonomy used in the sequence of orders and families and the scientific nomenclature is the one used by Galliari _et al_. (1996), except for particular cases. A record of 64 species is established, 55 of which are indigenous and 9 exotic, corresponding to 57 genres that are classed in 6 orders and 21 families. The most numerous of the orders is Rodentia (36.36%), with 14 species, grouped in 6 families; followed by Chiroptera (23,64%), with 13 species in 4 families y Carnivora (20%) with 4 families made up of 11 species. There would be 9 wild species that are extinct (_Myrmecophaga tridactyla, Cebus apella, Alouata caraya, Nasua nasua, Priodontes maximus, Ozotoceros bezoarticus, Pecari tajacu, Leo onca, Pteronura brasiliensis_) and nineteen others that are doubtfully cited.
