There are 2 lynx subspecies in Europe, namely the _Lynx lynx lynx_ and the _Lynx lynx pardina_. The author first describes their distribution in Europe and then focuses to its past and present distribution in Italy. He thinks that the extinct Mediterranean lynx populations probably resembled to the today's Iberian lynx populations. |
