Poaching and conflict with humans threaten the African golden cat in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Uganda
2018  Conference Proceeding

Across its range, the African Golden Cat _Caracal aurata_ has been suggested to be threatened by human activity, most notably poaching, habitat conversion (Bahaa-el-din et al. 2015) and human-wildlife conflict (Davenport 1996). In Uganda's Bwindi Impenetrable National Park neither data on population estimates and ecology exist, nor an assessment of human impacts on the African Golden Cat population in the protected area.
