Impressions and observation on serval behaviour in Tanzania, East Africa
1976  Mammalia (40): 13-19

This is the report of almost one hundred hours of pass-time observations on Serval, mainly in the Ndutu area, Tanzania, where the author came to learn at least four Serval individually by their spots and behaviour. Present impressions include that Serval were more diurnal than was expected, that they hunted by both sight and hearing (though apparently hindered on windy days), and that, in spite of living strictly solitarily, more than one male shared at least part of their hunting ranges.
