| First record of Pallas's cat in Kavdeh No-hunting Area, Iran | |

During a camera trapping survey to assess preliminarily the status of the Pallas's cat _Otocolobus manul_ in Central Alborz Mountains, a Pallas's cat was pictured in Kavdeh No-hunting Area in summer 2016 for the first time. The closest place where the species is known to occur is almost 60 km - air distance - to the west in Kouh Sefid No-hunting Area where a Pallas's cat was photographed by a ranger in 2010. |
