The aerial survey covered 3401 km2 and included Chewore North and South. The primary survey was to estimate elephant numbers. Although aerial survey is not a suitable technique to estimate population numbers predators, they were seen during the survey as well. 6 lions were seen, resulting in a population estimate of 44 (6-132).
