Of the 184 mammal species present in Guinea-Bissau, the Cantanhez National Park (PNC) hosts at least 84 from 10 different orders: Primates (12 species), Carnivora (24), Pholidota (2), Artiodactyla (13), Sirenia (1), Proboscidea (1), Tubulidentata (1), Rodentia (8), Hyracoidea (1), and Chiroptera (15). The majority of these species is listed in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species, with 33 species from the PNC listed as Vulnerable or higher. This guide presents 82 mammal species of which 15 are bats. The description includes name, taxonomy, habitat, observation, activity periods, measurements, sexual dimorphism, gestation, diet, predators, communication, life expectancy, conservation status, images, distribution, tracks.
