The re-introduction of recreational hunting in Uganda
2009  Book Chapter

Uganda is renowned for its diversity of landscapes and fauna, and during the 1950s and 1960s, many national parks, game reserves, controlled hunting areas and animal sanctuaries were established to protect important wildlife areas. Tourism became a major foreign exchange earner as visitors came from around the world to view the vast herds of elephant _Loxodonta africana_, Uganda kob _Kobus kob_ and buffalo _Syncerus caffer_ in Queen Elizabeth National Park, to take the launch trip to the base of Murchison Falls, or to climb the Rwenzori Mountains.
