Contributions on the Balkan Lynx (Lynx lynx martinoi) in Macedonia and Montenegro.
Protection of Nature 53 (2): 37-47. Belgrade.

This paper presents new data on Balkan Lynx Lynx lynx martinoi (Miríc, 1978) in the region of Montenegro and Macedonia, which were collected in the course of research during more than two last decades. New data include status (observations and records, tracks, specimens killed or found dead, as well as indications on possible presence) and recordings on Balkan Lynx biology (habitat, diet and behavior) in the researched area. All known data were used to make new estimated on population size, trends and main protection problems for this highly endangered Lynx subspecies in Macedonia and Montenegro.

Informs on the knowledge concerning the status, habitat, legal situation and projects on the lynx in FYR of Macedonia. For easier charting and describing, the territory inhabited by lynx was divided in five areas. Starting from the northern border with (former) Yugoslavia and following the Albanian border they are: Shar Mountains, Mavrovo National Park, Stogovo and Karaorman Mountains, and finally Drimcol region, Galicica National Park and Pelister National Park.
