I use an interdisciplinary research approach to promote the conservation of cats. I focus on tigers in South Asia. Specifically, I combine field ecology and remote sensing to assess human impacts on tiger habitats and populations. I use social surveys to investigate human tolerance to tigers. I develop simulation tools to forecast tiger population dynamics under different conservation scenarios. I have also examined the ecology, behavior, and conservation of African lions in Mozambique and cougars across multiple sites in the western USA.
