Cat Specialist Group Portal - Project of the Month

The World Wide Web is a perfect conduit to increase the awareness and value of

felids and to share experiences and knowledge among all working for the

conservation of the wild cats. The Web allows not only sharing of knowledge

among  professionals, but also informing the interested public. Public

understanding and support is critical for the conservation of cats and nature in

general. Most threats for the survival of cats result from human activities. The Cat

Specialist Group Portal provides not only baseline information for professional

conservation work, but also a wealth of information and news regarding the status

and the conservation needs of the free living cat species across the world.

The Cat Specialist Group would like to offer its members a plattform to present

their projects to a global public.

A corresponding communication module will be developed and maintained regularly

every month. The Cat Specialist Group seeks funding for this project.
