I have been working on the evolution and conservation of felids mainly using the wildcat (Felis silvestris), the lion (Panthera leo), and the tiger (P. tigris), based on their morphology. In this context, I am very interested in anthropogenic influences on the (evolutionary) histories of felids especially in the last few thousand years. I usually work on conservation by focusing on species as a whole rather than on particular geographic populations. However, I am personally interested in recently extinct populations of large felids such as North African Barbary lion and central-western Asian Caspian tiger. I also like specimen-oriented empirical approach, and feel extremely excited and happy when I work in collection storages in museums.
