I am a wildlife biologist studying felids in the mid-hills and high Himalayas (Home to nine of the 12 felid species) of Nepal since 2008. I have looked at presence-absence of these species until now by collecting occurrence records from my own surveys, other studies and direct observations by other people. Out of this group of felids, I have a particular focus on the clouded leopard as it is among the least understood of all felid species in Nepal. Now my priority is to look at which areas clouded leopard occupies in the mid-hill belt, how does it use the severely fragmented forested habitat and how does it interact spatio-temporally with sympatric felids, both small and big.
