I am professor at the Mammal Research Institute, Polish Academy of Sciences, Poland, where I work since 1992. I received my Ph.D. in ecology from Warsaw University in 1999. My main interests are the ecology and conservation of wild cats, especially the Eurasian lynx. I was involved in an ecological studies on the Iriomote cat in Japan, the jaguar in Venezuela and the wolves in NE Poland. Currently, I am investigating the adaptive significance of genetic variability in the Eurasian lynx and indirect effects of carnivores on their prey. Since 2003 I am an editor of Mammal Research.
